On June 8, 2022 Sarnia Police were called to Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School (NCIVS) located at 940 Michigan Avenue in the City of Sarnia regarding a disturbing message located on the school property. In consultation with Senior Administration at Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) a decision was made to close the school and move staff and students to remote learning for Thursday June 9, 2022. A sports banquet scheduled to take place at the school on today’s date has been cancelled. Incidents such as this are taken very seriously and the safety of staff and students is a priority.
The disturbing message was specific to Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School and there are no concerns for the safety of staff and students at other schools in the area.
