On Saturday, June 05, 2021, at approximately 8:00 PM, officers from the Community Patrol Branch responded to the north parking lot of Canatara Park regarding a vehicle that had backed out of its parking spot and struck another vehicle.
As officers attended the scene and investigated the matter further a demand was made to the driver of the vehicle, who struck the vehicle when he was backing up, to supply a sample of breath into a road side screening device. Results from the road side device indicated a fail and the suspect was taken into custody.
The accused was next transported to the Sarnia Police Service Headquarters where he then supplied further samples of breath into the Intoxilyzer which confirmed the actual concentration of alcohol in the accused’s blood. Again this test result indicated over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
The accused, Antoine Jackson, 30 years of age, of Windsor, was subsequently charged with Operation impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Jackson’s first court appearance will be on August 10, 2021, at 9:30 AM, at the Sarnia Lambton Court House located at 700 Christina Street North.
