Broadcast time: 10:25am

Date: May 19th, 2021

At 12:00am on Saturday, May 15th, 2021, five persons were walking and jumping a fence while cutting through a residential yard in the area of Wellington Street and Murphy Road in the City of Sarnia.

A resident of the area who was standing outside saw the group of five people and called out to them that they shouldn’t be cutting through his neighbour’s property and suggested that they walk around.

The group of five people then surrounded the resident who now became a victim as the group dragged him to the ground and began punching and kicking the victim.

As the assault continued, one of the attackers brandished a knife and slashed the victim’s wrist. The victim suffered severed arteries, nerves and tendons as a result of the assault.

The victim was provided emergency medical treatment that included being transported by ambulance to London for an eight-hour surgery to save the victim’s hand from amputation. The extent to which the victim may regain use of his hand remains unknown.

As a result of this senseless attack, 18-year-old Sarnia resident Micole Hilliker-Frost has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. Also charged with Aggravated Assault are four persons under the age of eighteen who cannot be named.
