Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit have been investigating a suspect in the 1000 block of Brenchley Street that was believed to be trafficking fentanyl.
On January 7, 2021, officers applied for a CDSA Search warrant for the residence in question which was in turn granted.
On January 7, 2021, at approximately 6:25 PM, members of the Vice Unit located the suspect outside in the area of his residence and were able to arrest him without incident. Officers then proceeded to execute the warrant on the residence.
During the search the following items were located:
- Fentanyl: 47.51 grams (Street Value: $23,755.00)
- Cannabis: 1510 grams (Street Value: $15, 100.00)
- Cannabis Edibles: 25 packages (Street Value: $625.00)
- Cannabis Chocolate Bars: 24 Packages (Street Value: $1200.00)
- Cash seized: $7170.00
Overall Street Value of Seized Drugs: $40,680.00
The accused in this matter, Alexander Lee Bannon, 27 years of age, of Sarnia, has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
Bannon has been held for a bail hearing.
