Hit and Run Involving A Police Cruiser

During the evening hours of January 6, 2021, at approximately 11:00 PM, an attempt was made to stop a motor vehicle in relation to a Highway Traffic Act violation. The stop was attempted in the area of Emma Street and Talfourd Street. Ultimately the vehicle sped off and due to concerns of public safety the vehicle was not pursued.

The car in question is described as a 2016 Mercedes C4A, white, four door vehicle with Ontario plate number CRKL459.

Several minutes later an officer, not involved with the initial incident, was struck by the white Mercedes in question in the area of London Road and Christina Street. The Mercedes fled the area immediately after the collision.

Fortunately, the officer did not sustain any serious injuries. The Sarnia Police Service SUV did sustain significant damage.

The Sarnia Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the white Mercedes which is believed to have damage to the front end area of the vehicle.
