Sarnia Police were dispatched to an apartment unit, in the 100 block of Queen Street, where the Sarnia Fire Department were present dealing with a fire.
Fortunately, the fire remained contained to a single unit and was not very significant. The resident of the unit was present during the incident and did not sustain any injuries.
As the investigation continued, it appeared that the 44-year-old male resident attempted to barricade himself inside the apartment but firefighters were able to make entry.
Due to the circumstances and evidence present, the man was taken into custody where he remains pending charges for mischief over $5000.
Due to the nature of the investigation the suspect’s name will not be released.
