On October 6, 2018, members of the Sarnia Police Service were dispatched to a local motel on London Line, in the City of Sarnia, regarding a female that the motel wished removed from the premise. At this time officers were able to escort the female from the property while she was yelling and swearing but with no significant incident and she was sent on her way.
A short time later the officers were still in the area and could hear yelling and screaming from the same female as she exited a local coffee shop in the area. The female then proceeded to the road way and sat in the middle of the road drinking her coffee. Vehicles on London Line began slowing down and swerving out of the way to avoid striking the female.
At this time the officers attended to the female attempting to remove her from the road way. As the officer approached the female and advised her she was under arrest for causing a disturbance she began to resist the officer by elbowing him and throwing her coffee at him. The officer was able to gain control of the accused and take her into custody.
The accused continued to be belligerent and resistive towards officers. At one point she spat at an officer, striking him in the face.
The accused in this matter, Allison Paige Fontaine, 25 years of age, has been charged with cause a disturbance, resist arrest, and assault peace officer. She was subsequently held for a bail hearing.
