Musical.ly is a widely popular app – especially for grade school age kids. They can share and edit their own lip-sync music videos and have a lot of fun doing so with their friends.

It was only a matter of time before the child predators also discovered it as a new tool to access potential victims.

So just a reminder, PLEASE take the time to look at your kid’s on-line devices and ensure that they are secure and locked down. Only allow them to share friend status with kids that they already know at school, etc. and that no others can access or contact them on their on-line profiles.

As a parent, take the time to do a little research on the app(s) your children are using and learn how they work. The two links below are resources regarding questions you may have pertaining to possible cyber safety.
