On December 19, 2016, at approximately 10:40 am, a Sarnia Police Officer was responding to a call when he came into collision with a civilian’s vehicle. The officer was travelling eastbound on London Road in the area of Copeland Road with lights and sirens activated. In an attempt to overtake traffic the officer moved over to the westbound lane.
A civilian, who was in the eastbound centre line lane proceeded to turn left onto Copeland Road in front of the cruiser. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage but no injuries were sustained.
The officer was issued a Provincial Offence Notice (ticket) for pass on roadway not clear for over taking traffic.
