Sarnia Police responded to the Wayne Avenue early this morning after a report of the sound of gunshots being heard. Officers responded to the area around 12:30 AM. Information was received by the Sarnia Police Communications Centre from neighbours in the vicinity. This information was relayed to the officers responding.
After a short conversation on the telephone with the 40 year old accused, he surrendered himself from a home in the area. The house was searched early this afternoon after a Criminal Code Search Warrant was executed there. Various firearms and ammunition were seized. The Sarnia man will face charges of Mischief Over $5,000, Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace, Careless Use of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage. No one was hurt during the incident.
The man will be released on a Promise to Appear with an Undertaking later today.
