Sarnia Police responded to two separate incidents on Wednesday February 27, 2013, one involving former roommates and the other being a domestic situation.

In the first case, two individuals, a man and a woman, were walking in the 500 block of Confederation Street around 10:15 AM.  Suddenly another man arrived and assaulted his former roommate.  He was arrested for Assault Cause Bodily Harm around 1 PM.   When arrested, he was found carrying a knife.  An additional charge of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon was added.

The 18 year old victim was walking on Confederation Street with his 20 year old girlfriend when the attack occurred.  The assailant fled before police arrived.  The victim suffered cuts, bruising and swelling to his face and head and he also received a sprained wrist during the occurrence. He was taken to hospital for treatment.  The attacked was later released on an Undertaking and will go to court in March.

In the second incident, a 26 year old Petrolia man was upset over the breakup of his relationship with his 23 year old partner.  As a result, around 1:40 PM, he got into his truck which was parked in the driveway of a home in the 900 block of Exmouth Street, and smashed it several times into the car belonging to his former common law spouse, which was also parked in the drive.  Police arrived and he was arrested.

He faces a charge of Mischief Over $5,000.
