On Saturday September 27, 2014 a 22 year old Sarnia man entered a locked compound of a business located in the 200 block of Confederation Street. Once inside the compound the man took a pick-up truck belonging to the business and crashed through the gate with the truck. The man was later involved in a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of East Street and Kathleen Avenue. The young man fled the collision scene on foot but was arrested a short time later.
The driver had been drinking and was taken to the Police Station to obtain breath samples. These test indicated the man was almost twice the legal limit. He now faces charges of Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80, Break and Enter, Theft and Failing to Remain.
