On Friday August 29, 2014 at about 9:45 PM a man was seen rifling through a storage locker beneath the front porch of a home in the 300 block of Christina Street. The 33 year old culprit was followed by the witness until officers arrived and arrested him. The Sarnia man was searched and property that he had taken from the storage locker along with about 1 gram of suspected crystal methamphetamine was found in his possession. The man has been charged with Break and Enter, Possession of a Controlled Substance and five counts of Breach of Probation.
On Friday August, 2014 at about 8:30 PM a member of the C.O.P.P.S Unit observed a car with stolen license plates. This car had also been involved in several gas drive off, s in the city. The officer attempted to block the car as it stopped for a stop sign at Sutton Street and Confederation Street but the driver got around the officer and fled. The officer identified the driver and passenger from previous encounters. The officer followed the car to a parking lot in the 300 block of Indian Road. The occupants both ran and the officer was able to arrest the 27 year old passenger. After examining the car it was discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Sarnia on August 17, 2014.
The passenger faces 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of Probation and Mischief. The mischief charge stems from him throwing wet paper at the cameras monitoring the cells.
The second male who had been driving was arrested on August 31, 2014 around 10:00PM in an apartment in the 800 block of Devine Street. The 33 year old Sarnia man faces 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property, 2 counts Breaching Probation and 1 count Flight While Pursued by Police.
