On Sunday July 6, 2014 at about 2:04 AM the uniform patrol sergeant noticed a car stopped at a traffic light on Christina Street at Davis Street. The driver hesitated to go when the light turned green and when he did he swerved almost striking parked cars. The driver Ronald J JOHNSON age 25 years of Sarnia was arrested for impaired driving. The accused refused to provide a breath sample at the police station. He has been charged with Impaired Operation and Failing to Provide a Breath Sample.
On Friday July 4, 2014 just after 10:30PM Sarnia Police officers were sent to Bluewater Health to speak with a 62 year old Sarnia man causing a disturbance by yelling and swearing. The man had been secured by security staff at the hospital and held until officers arrived. While the police officer was speaking with the man, the man stood up and kicked the officer in the groin. The man now faces charges of Causing a Disturbance and Assaulting a Police Officer.
On Saturday July 5, 2014 a 21 year old Sarnia man entered a business in the Lambton Mall with a duffel bag. He stuffed several items in the bag then ran from the store. Mall security reviewed surveillance video and recognized the male from similar shopping sprees in the past. Officers attended the mall and were also able to identify the man from previous encounters. Officers attended the man’s residence and arrested him. The officers noted items in the residence from two other stores with the tags still on them. The young man now faces three counts of Theft, two counts of Breach of Probation and Trespassing.
