At about 5:30am on Monday 11 February 2013 a Sarnia Police officer noticed two males near a business in the area of Ontario and Stockwell St. The officer approached the two males and they fled on foot. One male ran in an easterly direction and the other to the west.
The officer chased the male who ran to the east. The foot pursuit went east onto Phillip St. then doubled back onto Stockwell St and then behind Marshall Gowland Manor on Devine St. The male resisted and the officer used pepper spray to subdue him. The 35 year old male was taken into custody.
He was found to have Fentanyl and Crystal Meth in his possession as well as a substantial amount of cash believed to be taken from a break in. He is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of Probation, Resist Arrest and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug. He is being held for a Bail hearing later today.
Sarnia Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a black back pack the male discarded during the foot chase.
