On February 2, 2013, Sarnia Police arrested a 38 year old Sarnia woman for Theft Under $5,000. After receiving numerous tips through Crime Stoppers and other sources, she was identified as the female depicted in the video posted on You Tube for stealing items from a store on London Road on January 26.
The woman is facing charges dating back to July 2012. She was caught on store security video at that time. To date, the woman faces three Theft Under $5,000 charges and one count of Breach of Probation. She was released on a Promise to Appear but the investigation is ongoing.
Businesses and commercial properties that have video surveillance cameras are proving that this sort of equipment is valuable to not only to themselves but to police as well.
