On March 10, 2014, at approximately 0926 hours a 2005 Hyundai was proceeding southbound in the centre lane of Indian Road near London Road in the City of Sarnia. The Hyundai was being followed by a dark red car – possibly a Mazda product – that attempted to pass in the curb lane. While passing the Hyundai, the red sports car sideswiped the Hyundai and then returned back to the centre lane. The red sports car failed to stop after striking the Hyundai and continued southbound on Indian Road. The driver of the Hyundai attempted to follow the red sports car, but lost sight of the car in the area of Russell and Cromwell Streets. The red sports car will have noticeable damage to the driver’s door area and may have silver paint transfer from the Hyundai.
The Sarnia Police are asking any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information relating to the suspect vehicle or driver to contact the investigating officer, Constable Lindsay Johnston, at 519 344-8861 ext. 6164 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
