On Thursday, January 31, 2013 just before 11 AM, a Sarnia Police COPPS Branch officer stopped a car in the area of Kathleen Avenue and Mitton Street. The officer recognized the driver and was aware he had no driver’s licence due to it being suspended. There were two other male occupants in the vehicle.
The 23 year old driver was arrested under the Highway Traffic. The other men were asked to step from the car. In doing so, one of the males had a plastic bag protruding from his pant pocket. It was removed and found to contain some marihuana. That 22 year old man was arrested. Upon a further search of him, more marihuana was found. Over 8 grams of marihuana was seized.
The second passenger, a 29 year old man was carrying a plastic bag in his hand. He tried to conceal it before the officer approached him. It contained cocaine. He was arrested and a second bag found on him was found to contain methamphetamine.
All men are from Sarnia. The driver was eventually released with driving charges. The two other were held for bail and are charged with Possession of Marihuana, Cocaine and Methamphetamine accordingly
