On Sept 10, 2021, at approximately 6:50 PM, Sarnia Police received a call from a motorist regarding a vehicle travelling westbound on London Line that was swerving within lanes of traffic and then observed the vehicle strike a median on the roadway. Both passenger side tires were deflated due to this. The vehicle continued to Quinn Drive and parked in the Walmart lot. The vehicle then left the lot and officers were able to locate the vehicle while it was still in the area.
As the officers investigated the matter grounds were formed to arrest the driver for impaired operation of a conveyance. The accused was then transported to the Sarnia Police Headquarters where a qualified Breath Technician conducted tests on the Intoxilyzer instrument. Results indicated that the accused was over twice the legal limit.
In this matter, Issac Doxtator, 21 years of age, of Corunna, was charged with one count of impaired operation of a conveyance and one count of having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
Also, on September 10, 2021, at approximately 10:15 PM, a citizen reported a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the area of Waterworks Road and John Street. When officers arrived on scene they found the motorcycle lying on its side with significant damage. Lambton Paramedics attended to treat the driver of the motorcycle. Once the driver of the motorcycle had completed his involvement with the paramedics, and had no significant injuries, officers were able to continue their investigation and observed signs of impairment from the driver.
The accused was taken into custody for impaired operation of a conveyance and then transported to the Sarnia Police Headquarters where a qualified Breath Technician conducted tests on the Intoxilyzer instrument. Results indicated that the accused was over twice the legal limit.
In this matter, Gerald Charles Mayer, 37 years of age, of Sarnia, was charged with one count of impaired operation of a conveyance and one count of having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
Both of the accused face a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and their vehicles will be impounded for 7-days.
