Residents in the area of Old Lakeshore, Morningside Drive, Poplar Lane, and other streets in the vicinity awoke to find that their vehicles had been damaged between the late evening hours of May 1, 2021 and the early morning hours of May 2, 2021.

The Sarnia Police Service received 14 reports involving vehicles having been keyed and or their tires slashed.

Also, City of Sarnia Parks and Recreation reported damage to the Rotary Club play equipment located by the large pavilion in the northwest end of Canatara Park. It appears that someone torched a portion of the equipment and in turn melted the plastic. Fortunately, the damage was not extensive but will need to be replaced.

These acts serve no purpose other than to cost individuals money, inconvenience people, and deface our community.

The Sarnia Police Service is reaching out to anyone that knows who was involved in these acts. It is not believed that what happened at Canatara Park is related to the damage done to vehicles. If you do have any information you are please asked to call the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861, extension 0, or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
