As part of the many investigations currently ongoing by members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit, a local resident was being investigating for the trafficking of cocaine within the City of Sarnia.
After applying for and being granted a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Warrant, members of the Vice Unit conducted surveillance on the suspect in the 100 block of Front Street North on April 30, 2021, at approximately 4:00 PM. The officers observed the suspect exit his residence in the area and were able to apprehend the suspect without incident.
Officers then conducted a search of the residence where they located:
1) 16.6 grams of cocaine with a street value of $1948.00
2) $5010.00 in Canadian currency.
As result of the investigation, the accused in this matter, Jeremy Schembrie, 41, years of age, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
