Yesterday, March 1, 2021, members of the Sarnia Police Service Traffic Unit, with the assistance of General Patrol, investigated of two significant collisions within the City.
The first collision occurred at approximately 9:00 AM at the intersection of Indian Road and Exmouth Street. According to information received, the pickup truck came into collision with a cube van. Sarnia Fire and Lambton Paramedics also attended but fortunately there were no significant injuries requiring hospitalization. Both vehicles incurred significant damage and had to be towed from the scene. This investigation is still ongoing.
The second collision occurred at approximately 4:10 PM on London Line. An SUV travelling eastbound stopped to make a left hand turn into a driveway and was struck from behind by a Honda Civic. The SUV driver did not sustain any significant injuries. There were three occupants in the Honda Civic, of which two were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries via ambulance.
In this collision the driver of the Civic was charged with careless driving, no insurance, and for failing to wear a seatbelt. A passenger in the Civic was also charged with failing to wear a seatbelt as well.
