Firearm Seized as Part of Drug Warrant Search

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit requested and were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant as part of an ongoing investigation pertaining to a residence in the 1400 block of Exmouth Street. Due to the investigation it was believed that the occupants of the residence were trafficking cocaine and prescription medication.

At approximately 7:20 PM, on November 12, 2020, officers from the Vice Unit, with assistance from members of General Patrol, executed the search warrant. Upon entry officers located several occupants in the residence which were taken into custody without incident.

Upon completing a search of the residence officers located the following:

1. Various dosages of Dilaudid pills with an approximate street value of $780.00
2. 49.48 grams of cocaine with a street value of $5,937.00
3. One gram of methamphetamine with a street value of $100
4. 3.2 grams of Fentanyl with a street value of $1,600.00
5. Total amount of cash seized $2,280.00
6. Two functioning tasers
7. A shotgun along with ammunition

The total amount of drugs seized is approximately $8,942.00

The following individuals have been charged as follows:

1. Joseph Francis Calver, 63 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of careless storage of a firearm, one count of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

    

2. Ryan George Dionne, 31 years of age, of Sarnia, faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of breach of pro0bation, two counts of failing to complying with a release order, and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

    

3. Geoffrey Scott Meredith, 52 years of age, of Sarnia, faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of failing to comply with an undertaking, and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

    

4. Michelle Anne Poirier, 32 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of failing to comply with a release order, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

    

5. Carly Rae Timms, 31 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
   

All five remain in custody awaiting a bailing hearing.
