This morning the Sarnia Police Service respond with Sarnia Fire regarding two separate structure fires.
The first structure fire occurred at approximately 2:35 AM in the 400 block area of Kathleen Street. Individuals were evacuated from neighbouring units and fortunately no one was injured. The unit sustained significant damage.
The second fire was reported at approximately 4:25 AM in the 600 block of Rayburne Avenue. This fire destroyed the residence and caused significant damage to the adjacent properties.
Currently, fire and police are on scene as a joint investigation is under way by the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch, the Sarnia Fire Department Investigator, and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the cause of the fires.
The roads and area around the structures will be closed until the investigation of the scenes are completed and thus we are asking people to avoid these areas.
