On August 21, 2020, at approximately 12:00 AM, Sarnia Police Service officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle in the area of Elizabeth Avenue just to the south of Exmouth Street.
Upon arriving on scene officers observed the 24-year-old victim lying on the ground with serious injuries. The victim was initially transported to Bluewater Health but later transferred to a London hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle was located a short distance away with no occupants.
Since then members of the Sarnia Police Service Traffic Unit and members of the Criminal Investigation Branch have continued their investigation and were able to determine who the suspect was.
On August 25, 2020, Noah O’Dwyer Bristol, 20 years of age, of Petrolia, turned himself in and was held for a bail hearing. Bristol is facing the following charges:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm
- Failing to comply with release
The victim in this matter remains in a London hospital recovering from his significant injuries but is in stable condition.
