At approximately 6:30 PM, on June 2, 2020, the Sarnia Police Service was dispatched to the 100 block of Stuart Street regarding a female yelling for assistance.
Officers located the 31-year-old victim who had sustained significant injuries after being assaulted while inside a residence on Stuart Street. The victim woke up to a male and female assaulting her with some sort of blunt weapon. The victim was then threatened to leave the residence or face further harm. All individuals knew each other and this was an isolated incident.
The victim was taken to hospital with significant injuries but none were life threatening.
Officers arrested the two suspects still in the residence on Stuart Street.
Currently the following two accused remain in custody and face the following charges:
- Stephanie Crystal Robar, 36 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon. one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of breach of probation.
- Patrick Louis Newman, 45 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and one count of uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm.
Both accused have been held for a bail hearing.
