On May 5, 2020, at approximately 3:40 PM, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a call involving suspected firearms. Officers attended the scene located in the 800 block of Lasalle Line and set up a containment perimeter around the area to ensure public safety. City of Sarnia Police notified the immediate community, via MyCNN, of the possible threat in the area and to shelter in place.
The Sarnia Police Service Emergency Response Team, along with officers from the Community Patrol Branch and the Criminal Investigation Branch, assisted at the scene. Three occupants to the residence exited the building and were taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:30 PM. The shelter in place was lifted at approximately 5:00 PM.
As the investigation unfolded it was determined that the disturbance revolved around a dispute, that had been going on for a number of days, over property purchased online between the individuals that attended the residence on Lasalle Line and the three accused who resided there. It is alleged that the three who are accused produced what appeared to be firearms and pointed the firearms at the complainants who in turn left the property and called the Sarnia Police.
Earlier this morning members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch re-attended the address on Lasalle Line to execute a warrant and seize evidence in this matter. It was determined that the replica firearms were pellet guns. Please see photo below.
The three accused in this matter face the following charges:
- Brendon Mitchell Kincaid, 22 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, and one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
- Brett William Kincaid, 23 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, and one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence.
- Christina Jane Williams, 52 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of pointing a firearm, one count of threats to cause death and bodily harm, one count of use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence, one count of failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of breaching probation.
