Broadcast time: 12:11 AM Date: April 27, 2020

On Sunday, April 26, 2020, at approximately 8:00 AM, an officer on general patrol observed a black pickup truck with an attached white cargo trailer parked on Wellington Road to the east of Mitton Street. The officer was already aware of this vehicle being involved in numerous local thefts.

The officer approached the vehicle and observed a male party a sleep in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

As the officer continued his investigation it was determined that both the pickup truck and trailer had been stolen from the London area. It was also determined that the male inside the truck was wanted by Lambton OPP on an outstanding warrant. The suspect, Michael Damien Beachey, 34 years of age, of Lambton Shores, was arrested. During a search of the suspect and the vehicle the officers located quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. It was also determined that the plates on the pickup truck were also stolen.

Beachey has since been remanded into custody on two counts of possession of stolen property over $5000, one count of possession of stolen property under $5000, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Officers continue their investigation into this matter as a number of tools, a motorcycle, various forms of identification, and other items were located and are believed to be stolen.

Further charges are pending as the investigation continues and Beachey remains in custody.
