Sarnia Police Vice Branch, assisted by members of the Criminal Investigations Branch and uniformed officers, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Maxwell Street last night around 8:15 PM. Upon entry, officers located a 48 year old female in the living room. In front of her on the coffee table were morphine capsules. She was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Officers continued with the search and located more drugs, drug paraphernalia and about $900 in cash. The drugs found were suboxone, morphine, hydromorphone (also known as dilaudid), crystal methamphetamine, marihuana and methylphenidate. The total street value of the drugs seized was about $3,700.00.
While officers were in attendance searching, a 19 year old female arrived at the residence. She was found to be in possession of marihuana. She indicated she also lived there. She was arrested. The two women are being held for bail hearings. They both face Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 5. The 48 year old has additional charges of Breach x 2 and the 19 year old will have an additional charge of Possession of Marihuana.
