Vice Seize Cocaine and Cash

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Branch entered into an investigation regarding a male suspect who was supposedly selling large quantities of cocaine within the City of Sarnia. As the investigation continued officers requested a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

On September 19, 2019, officers conducted surveillance on the suspect and observed him while he was driving his vehicle. Police observed the suspect conduct a drug transaction with a female who had entered the vehicle in a central Sarnia parking lot. At approximately 8:10 pm Vice unit officers stopped the vehicle and arrested both occupants. As part of the warrant’s conditions a search of the vehicle was conducted and a quantity of cocaine was located within the vehicle.

Both suspects were transported back to the station while the Vice officers attended the male suspect’s home to continue on with a search for more evidence. At approximately 8:40 pm officer entered the residence located in the 1000 block of Lanark Place and began their search.

As part of the entire investigation officers seized 37.21 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $3725.00 along with $34,852.00 in Canadian currency.

The 29 year old female was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on a promise to appear.

The accused, 42 year old Craig Anthony Saunders, of Sarnia, was charged with one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and held for a bail hearing.
