Cannabis Cabbie

Sarnia Police stopped a taxi cab this morning after 10 AM in the area of London and Murphy Roads. The cab was stopped because there was a large crack in the front windshield. When the officer approached the cab driver, he was met with an overwhelming smell of marihuana from within the taxi. The driver and the male passenger were arrested. After searching the 46 year old cab driver, he was found to have in his possession marihuana and oxycodone.

The male passenger was later found to be in possession of marihuana and methamphetamine. He was also found to be on a Recognizance of Bail from court so he will be held for a bail hearing. The cabbie will be released on a Promise to Appear. He will also be ticketed for the cracked windshield. Someone had to come and retrieve the cab.

The male passenger will face charges of Possession of marihuana and methamphetamine and Breach of Recognizance.
