The Sarnia Police Service would like to announce the results of yet another successful Shred Event.
On Saturday, May 25th, 2019, the 14th Annual Community Shred Event was held at the Lambton Mall parking lot in an effort to prevent fraud and identity theft. In total, 653 people brought documents for the purpose of shredding that would otherwise compromise their identity. The total weight of shredded documents was 5,443 kg (12,000 lbs).
In addition, $2,025.55 in donations was raised for the Torch Run for Special Olympics.
The Sarnia Police Service would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Shred Event and also thank everyone who made a charitable donation. A big THANK YOU goes out to Lambton Mall for sponsoring this worthwhile community event and to the Law Enforcement Torch Run volunteers for continuing to make the Shred Event a success.
This annual event undoubtedly helps to reduce the number of identity theft victims throughout the city of Sarnia.
