Sarnia Police had three arrests in less than one hour on the evening of July 17, 2013 between 11 PM and midnight. In the first incident, officers attended an address on Euphemia Street in regards to a trespassing complaint. A vacant apartment was searched and no one was found. The officers attended another unit at the same address and were met at the door by a visitor to that apartment. They were informed the tenant was not there. Further investigation revealed the tenant was hiding in her own unit. She was found to be on Probation with a condition not to associate with the visitor who answered the door. One of the men, a 24 year old Courtright man, appeared intoxicated. After some conversation, the investigation revealed there was no criminal activity and the officers left. Officers were in the area, completing their notes, when they observed a motor vehicle on Exmouth Street near the previous location. This car drove to the officer’s cruiser. The Courtright man they spoke to about five minutes prior was behind the wheel. It was noted that he was not wearing a shirt. He was asked to step from his car and he was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Breath tests revealed he was over the legal limit. He was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle while is ability was Impaired and Drive with Over 80 MG. He was later released on a Promise to Appear.

Around 11:40 PM, an officer observed a female on a bicycle. The officer approached the woman and at that time she failed to identify herself. The woman rode off on the bike. She eventually jumped off and continued to run on foot. She was apprehended a short distance away in the 200 block of Finch Drive. She then identified herself and it was discovered she was on probation with a curfew condition. She was arrested for Breach of Probation. The 18 year old Sarnia woman was taken to headquarters and released later on a Promise to Appear. Her first court date will be in late August, 2013.
