On January 2, 2019, members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit Branch attend the address of Unit 1- 1407 London Road, in the City of Sarnia, where a business by the name Green Gods Medical Dispensary operated. At this time the officers spoke to the parties operating the business cautioning them with regards to the illegal sale of Cannabis product under the Cannabis Act. The operators of the business were advised at this time to cease operations immediately or face legal action.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, a search warrant was requested and granted to search Green Gods Medical Dispensary and seize evidence.
At approximately 3:30 pm, on January 8, 2019, officers from Vice and the COPPS Unit executed the search warrant.
Secondary to the search officers seized the following:
- Approximately 2100 grams of marijuana bud
- 13 grams of shatter
- 71 cannabis marijuana cigarettes
- Small quantity of edibles
The total street value of product seized was approximately $22,000. Also seized was approximately $5100 in cash.
Currently three males are in custody:
- Mitchell Joseph Cossette, 54 years of age
- David Edward McGillivray, 49 years of age
- Robert Joseph Robichaud, 47 years of age
All three have been charged under section 10(2) of the Cannabis Act, for possess cannabis for the purpose of sale and have been held for a bail hearing.
As part of their advertising scheme the business was handing our the below business card to unsuspecting local students offering them a “1 free joint”.
