On December 6, 2018, the Sarnia Police Service entered into an investigation regarding fraudulent City of Sarnia Transit passes being sold by an individual. Police received a description of the suspect along with the first name of “Dan”
On December 10, 2018, at approximately 11:00 am, Sarnia Police were dispatched to the area of George Street and Vidal Street. A Sarnia Transit bus driver advised that the suspect who was selling the passes was currently on the bus.
Officers were able to attend the scene and arrest the suspect in this matter.
A search of the suspect located a number of the fraudulent bus passes.
Daniel Vaughan Nahmabin, 55 years of age, now faces charges for fraud and possession of forged documents.
Anyone found in possession of these fraudulent passes could face similar charges.
