In October, of 2018, the Sarnia Police Service commenced an investigation regarding a sexual assault that occurred in 1982.
According to the allegations, the victim who was 15 years old at the time and is now 51 years of age, had attended the office of a local doctor where she was assaulted during an assessment that took place.
The Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch conducted an investigation into the matter.
On December 5, 2018, the accused, Dr. Kunwar Raj Singh, 76 years of age, attended the Sarnia Police Service Headquarters where he was arrested. Dr. Singh was charged with one count of indecent assault on a female.
Dr. Singh has since then been released and is to attend court on January 8, 2019.
