On July 9, 2013 members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit and Uniformed members stopped a vehicle at Michigan and Front St. A male and female were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. Seized at this time were $1500.00 in currency, four 25 microgram Fentanyl patches and thirty 50 microgram Fentanyl patches.
A second related traffic stop led to a male being arrested for suspend drive. A search of his person revealed 1.2 grams of cannabis marihuana and five 5mg oxycodone tablets on his person.
Later a search of their residence on Cardiff Dr. revealed the following items which were seized as evidence to the offence:
•62 Ecstasy tablets and 12×25 microgram Fentanyl
•56 grams of cocaine
•1810 ml of Methadone
•digital scales
•Surveillance monitor and cameras
•$1060.00
•A small amount of Cannabis Marihuana and Resin
The following charges have been laid against three parties; Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x4) for the substances of Fentanyl, Cocaine, Ecstasy and Methadone contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. One male is also charged with breaching his probation, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
The total amount of money that was seized from the traffic stop and the residence was $2531.00
The total amount of cocaine seized was 56 grams with a street value of $5600.00 at $100.00/gram
The total amount of Fentanyl seized has a street value of $7600.00
The total amount of Ecstasy tablets that were seized were $1240.00 x $20.00 per tablet
The total amount of methadone that was seized was 1810 millilitres with a street value of $905.00 at $0.50/millilitre
All three parties were held pending a bail hearing.
