On February 26, 2018, at around 10 PM, a taxi driver was robbed of money after driving a fare from Dresden to a Sarnia residence. On arriving at the residence the accused failed to pay the fare. The accused then brandished a knife which he held at the driver and demanded money. The accused then fled the area on foot after obtaining cash from the driver.
The accused was located and arrested at another Sarnia residence on February 27, at about 4:40 AM.
Justin Thompson, 23 years old of Sarnia, is charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation, Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats to cause Bodily Harm, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Transportation Fraud. Thompson remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
