Recently the Sarnia Police Service has received the 2017 Annual Stats from all of the collision reports that were taken by our officers.
In 2017 our officers took 1437 collision reports, 56 more reports then 2016.
In total, 2746 vehicles were involved in collisions throughout 2017.
Officers investigated three fatal collisions throughout the year.
24 collisions involved pedestrians.
23 collisions involved cyclists.
15 collisions involved motorcycles.
30 collisions involving alcohol or drugs (not necessarily impaired)
Approximately 50 % of collisions occurred between the hours of 11:00 am and 5:00 pm with Thursday having the highest number of collisions and Sunday the least.
