The Sarnia Police would like to advise the public regarding a fraudulent representation via phone call occurring in Sarnia.
From information received a person will call your residence and advise that they are calling on behalf of Rainbow Carpet Cleaning located in Sarnia. They also state they are coming out to clean you carpets and duct work.
Rainbow Carpet Cleaning is a legitimate company in Sarnia but they would never solicit business in this fashion. It is uncertain what this scam is about but please avoid giving out any information.
If you receive a call of this nature please just hang-up and do not give any information out. This is not an unusual sort of fraud as we receive similar misrepresentations, such as with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) phone scams.
