Sarnia Police Services are pleased to announce that the circumstances surrounding an unmanned catamaran washing up on Sarnia’s shore has ended with a positive outcome.
The operators of the catamaran have been accounted for in Lexington, Michigan.
Details at this time indicate that the operators encountered trouble while operating the catamaran and were forced to abandon it, and swim to shore.
The Sarnia Police wish to thank the media and public on both sides of the border for their assistance in bringing this to a prompt conclusion.
Earlier today, members of the Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia Fire Department, Point Edward Fire Department, Canadian Coast Guard, American Coast Guard and Canadian Military Personnel and Equipment from CFB Trenton conducted an exhaustive search of the shores and water on both sides of the Canadian and American border.
