On the morning of May 3, 2017, a Sarnia Police Service officer came across a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen and affiliated with two individuals who had committed a robbery on the Oneida Reserve. The vehicle was located at a motel on London Line in the City of Sarnia.
In hope of locating the suspects involved with the stolen vehicle and the robbery officers set up in the area.
At approximately 9:50 am officers were able to close in on the vehicle as it attempted to leave the parking lot and arrested the two suspects.
The first party is a Robert Ireland, 31 years of age who was wanted by Middlesex OPP for Robbery with a weapon, 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance. Ireland also had outstanding warrants from Guelph and Timmins.
The second party was a Cheyanne Metatawabin, 23 years of age, also wanted by Middlesex OPP for assault with a weapon, robbery with a weapon, utter threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief. She is also wanted in Timmins on a warrant.
Both are being held by the Sarnia Police Service awaiting their transport by Middlesex OPP back to their Region to face charges.
