Sarnia Police arrested two 18 year old men this morning around 4 AM. They were arrested near Michigan Avenue and Murphy Road. They are believed responsible for several thefts from vehicles that occurred in the Wiltshire and Twin Lakes subdivisions overnight.
The pair, together, started off in the area of Indian Road and Rosedale Avenue and travelled north bound, entering cars parked in driveways along the route. They eventually made their way to the Twin Lakes Drive and Errol Road East area when a witness spotted them around 3 AM and called police. Police remained in the area, scouring streets and sidewalks looking for the duo.
An officer spotted the men and stopped to talk with them when one of them fled. Other officers arrived but he was apprehended a short distance away. Both men are from Sarnia and live at the same mid city address. One man was found in possession of a credit card not in either of their names. Other items located on them were an iPod, headphones, lots of loose change, lottery tickets, pocket knife, lighters, gloves and flashlights.
They remain in custody and went to court this morning for a bail hearing. The one male was found to be on probation. They face charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Theft Under $5,000.
