On November 8, 2016, at approximately 4:00 pm, a member of the Sarnia Police Service COPPS Unit located a suspect in the area of Victoria Street in the City of Sarnia, regarding property that had been stolen several days prior. While the officer was speaking to the suspect he observed that the suspect was being very nervous and acting odd. As the interaction continued the officer became concerned for his safety and conducted a pat down to check for weapons.
During the pat down the officer located a quantity of crystal methamphetamine in the suspects pocket along with some cash. The drugs were dispensed into individual baggies and believed to be meant to be sold on the street.
The accused, Nicholas Williams, 44 years of age, was arrested for:
1 count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
3 counts of breach of recognizance
3 counts of breach of probation
The quantity of drugs was believed to have a street value of approximately $1350.00.
The accused remains in custody pending his bail hearing.
