On May 21, 2016 in the early morning hours, an unknown male party cut the phone lines to the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre. The suspect then waited for the key holder to attend and clear. The suspect then removed a glass panel from a door and made entry. The male then used a grinder to break into an ATM machine located in the building making off with a large quantity of cash.
The party then proceeded to a second ATM machine within the building; however no entry was made into this machine. The suspect is described as being 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 5 inches, heavy build, wearing a balaclava and gloves. He also had a very distinctive walk. It is believed that the suspect is not from the Sarnia area.
