Broadcast time: 9:05

Date: March 7, 2016

On March 6, 2016, at approximately 3:00 am, a member of the Sarnia Police Service observed a male and female in a parking lot in the area of Mitton Street and Wellington Street, in the City of Sarnia, acting suspiciously around a vehicle. The officer made a U-turn to deal with the couple and by this time they had entered the vehicle and the vehicle was running.

The female was the driver and male was in the passenger seat. Through the officer’s investigation he formed grounds that the female driver had consumed alcohol and demanded that she supply a sample of breath into a road side screening device. The result from the road side screening device was a fail and she was arrested at approximately 3:09 am for over 80 mg of alcohol / 100 ml of blood. She was then transported to the Sarnia Police Station where she was tested on the Intoxilyzer. There she supplied 2 suitable samples indicating that she was approximately 2 and a half times over the legal limit.

A Megan Humphreys, 29 years of age, was released once sober on a Promise to Appear facing the charge of over 80 mg of alcohol / 100 ml of blood, with her first court appearance being on the March 22, 2016 at 9:30 am.
