Date: March 7, 2016

On March 6, 2016, at approximately 11:20 pm, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a call for service pertaining to a 24 year old man who was in an apartment in the 800 block of Devine Street in the City of Sarnia with a 19 year old female. The 24 year old man was not to be with that female secondary to the fact he was on a Recognizance of Bail issued by the courts to remain away from her.

The Sarnia Police Service attended the unit and received no response from the occupants. Officers did at one point observe the suspect in the kitchen from a window appear to retrieve what was believed to be a knife and then moved out of site from the window. Out of concern for the safety of the female, who was also initially observed in the apartment via the window, the Sarnia Police Service Emergency Response Team was called in to secure the area. Shortly before 3:30 am a warrant for entry was granted to the Sarnia Police Service and entry was made by the Emergency Response Team.

The 24 year old man was subsequently arrested without incident and transported to the Sarnia Police Service Station. He now awaits a bail hearing. The man faces 3 counts of breaching his Recognizance of Bail.
