On February 23, 2016 at approximately 4:50 pm a lone 26 year old male suspect entered a pharmacy located in the south end of the City of Sarnia brandishing a handgun. At this time the suspect directed three employees of the pharmacy to hand over a large quantity of opiate based drugs such as Fentanyl patches, Oxycodone, Morphine and Demerol. In all, hundreds of patches in various dosages and hundreds of pills also in various dosages and types were stolen.
The suspect then left the pharmacy via a vehicle he had left parked out front. The employees of the pharmacy were able to gather a partial license plate and description before the vehicle disappeared. From that information and further investigation the police were able to determine who the suspect was.
On February 24, 2016, at approximately 3:20 am, the London Police Service conducted a traffic stop involving the vehicle involved in the robbery and located the suspect with the vehicle. Also located was a firearm.
The suspect was transported back to Sarnia by members of the Sarnia Police Service where he is to face a bail hearing this morning.
The 26 year old suspect faces numerous charges including Robbery using a Firearm, Point Firearm and other firearm related charges. He also faces 3 Breach of Probation charges
