On February 7, 2016 the Sarnia Police Service were dispatched at 3:25 am to the area of Vidal Street and Confederation Street in the City of Sarnia regarding a south bound vehicle which was observed striking the cement barrier on the Donahue Bridge. The vehicle was then observed leaving the area of impact and continuing south bound. After traveling several kilometers, the driver was then seen exiting the vehicle and walking to a local coffee shop.
Police were able to locate the man shortly after 3:33 am and after registering a fail on a road side screening device the man was arrested for over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. After being transported to the Sarnia Police Station and supplying samples into the Intoxilyzer the 24 year old man was charged with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood and subsequently released once sober on a Promise to Appear.
