On Friday December 4, 2015 a Sarnia Police officer attempted to arrest a 20 year old woman for shoplifting as she left a store located on Quinn Drive. The female was able to get away and ran to a van waiting in the parking lot. There were two men known to her in the van and she yelled at them to leave. Before they could drive away the pursuing officer was able to remove the keys from the ignition. The two men got out of the van and one of them confronted the officer. During the confrontation the female fled on foot. The officer chased her through the lot and she eventually returned to the van. The same male again attempted to impede the officer and he was arrested. As the officer and the male wrestled on the ground, the female took off on foot. Backup officer’s attended and assisted in handcuffing the male.
During a search of the male under arrested officers located just over 10 grams of methamphetamine valued at approximately $1,200.00 along with just over $400.00 in cash and a stolen credit card.
The male, 32 year old Shawn MOYER of Sarnia is charged with obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property.
The female Allisha Tionna NIGHTINGALE of Sarnia was located a short distance away and arrested. She is charged with three counts of breaching her probation, theft under $5,000.00 and resisting arrest.
